What is a Same Day Visa Application and can I apply using this service?

The Home Office provide a service where you can get your Visa or Indefinite Leave to Remain application approved usually on the same day. They charge an extra fee for this service. It is very popular with applicants as it removes the stress of waiting a long time and provides other advantages. Instead of mailing your application you can attend one of the 7 Home Office premium Service locations in the UK and have a caseworker review the documents and form that day.

What happens during a Premium Same Day Visa appointment?

Applications usually take from 1-3 hours on the day. You will pass through security using your booking confirmation then your application will be taken by a staff member for an initial check. This is to ensure you have paid and used the correct form. From here they will pass the application to a caseworker and while you are waiting you will be called for biometrics. After biometrics you will wait until the caseworker has made a decision and you can leave with your documents and approval letter. Your visa or ILR biometrics card will arrive in the mail, usually within 5-10 working days via courier.

Will your representative attend with me?

Yes our representatives attend most of the UK Premium Service Centres. Certain services are only available at some of the Premium centres so we may advise based on our experience which centre is best for you to attend given our knowledge of the system. Our representative will call you the day before to arrange what time to meet up outside the premium service centre.

Is there extra fees for using the Home Office Premium Service Appointments?

Yes, the Home Office currently charge £400 extra on top of the visa or Indefinite Leave to Remain application fee. For instance if the ILR fee is £1500 and you want to apply using the Home Office Premium Service you will pay a total of £1900 for your application.

Is there any advantages of using the Premium Same Day Service?

Yes, there are several advantages.

  • You will have a decision in the majority of cases on the same day and know before your visa expires the outcome of your application
  • You don’t have to wait months with the additional stress and anxiety, not knowing what the outcome will be and how your life may change if there is a mistake
  • If there is a mistake during the same day application you will have time to correct this issue before your visa expires usually, but if you mailed the application and it was refused a few months later after your visa had already expired then not only do you not have time to correct it, but you also have to leave the country usually within 28 days.
Can you book a Premium Service appointment for me?

Yes, we can book an appointment for you to attend a same day appointment. This normally has to be done at least 2 weeks before, but preferably 4 weeks before to guarantee availability and a more suitable date and time for you. Application fees and the premium service fee must be paid together at the time of booking. We will call you when making the booking to obtain a payment method to pay for your application. If you are required to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) you will pay this also at the time of booking. Once the appointment is booked we will email you the booking details to print and bring along to the appointment.

Do you assist with British Citizenship Applications?

Yes we can provide British Nationality advice and cover a wide range of application types for child and adult applications.

Can I get my British naturalisation application approved through the Premium Same Day Service?

Currently, the answer is no. The Home Office require all naturalisation applications to be mailed to them.

How long does a naturalisation application take to process?

The processing time varies at different times of the year and for each applicant. It can be as quick as 6 weeks or as long as 6 months. The average is 3-4 months usually.

Will I get a passport once I’m approved?

Not quite. Once your application for British citizenship is approved you will receive a letter inviting you to book in for a ceremony. At this ceremony you will make an oath and then receive a British citizenship certificate. You can then get a passport application form from the post office and make your British Passport Application using your certificate as evidence.

Do you offer document checks?

Yes we offer documents checks. If you have prepared your documents and are concerned there could be an error or want to help remove any doubt you can have WM Immigration review your documents for you and provide advice on how to replace or correct any incorrect paperwork.

Do I need a document check?

For everyone, this is a personal decision. Here at WM Immigration, we have found that many applicants that have prepared their own applications and documents have overlooked some small but vital steps. One mistake on a visa application can result in more than lost fees and time, it can also cause havoc with relationships and employment. We strongly advise anyone thinking of applying themselves to consider a document check to ensure your application meets the strict Home Office requirements.

Can You Assist With My Settlement (ILR) Application?

WM Immigration has extensive experience dealing with all forms of ILR and many combinations of work, student and family paths to getting Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK.

How Long Will a Settlement Application take?

Preparing the application for ILR is the longest part of the process. This can take several months depending on your circumstances. If you mail the application it will take between 2-6 months to process. If you chose to use same day premium service the ILR application will be approved in a few hours usually. If you are someone who has to travel for work or doesn’t like to wait the same day service is recommended.
